The Job of Principal

• Evaluates the Asst. Principal and the Athletic Director
• In charge of the budget for the school
• Responsible for the total operation of the school building
  • Includes working with the Hanover Township Police and Fire Departments
  • Conducting safety drills
  • Performs observations of the faculty
  • Regularly attends department meetings
  • Reports to the Superintendant
  • Is involved in individual student issues as necessary

• Before becoming principal, he was the Asst. Principal (6 years) and before that, the Athletic Director (5 years) at Whippany Park.
• Prior to coming to Whippany Park, Mr. Manning spent 17 years in the Glen Ridge school district.

Personal Background

• Grew up in the Ironbound District of Newark, NJ
  • Lived in a small “railroad” apartment
  • Spent most of his time outside playing and swimming
  • Education was important in his family
  • He is happily married and has two grown daughters
    • Met his wife in college
    • Lives in Whippany
    • Both of his daughters were students at WPHS while he was the Asst. Principal and Principal.

Mr. Manning has had a long and successful career in education. He loves his job and plans on being at Whippany Park for many years to come!
